As I watched a depressing episode of Frontline tonight (the one about the insolvency of public pension funds in many states due to malfeasance by the legislatures), I kept getting distracted by high resolution closeups of this guy:

He's one of those annoyingly handsome and straight, polished pundits who are multimedia threats. He's a blogger, radio broadcaster, and apparently pretty savvy at self-promotion via social media like Twitter.
His resume includes working for Bernie Sanders' campaigns twice now. He's either intentionally or incidentally controversial, which serves him well in his role both as commentator and as political strategist for one of the most recognized political figures in the nation.
As an aside, he was certainly a looker when young, but is one of those bastards who get better looking as they gray:

And, true to form for those handsome people among us, he's capable of grunging out. In this pic he looks like someone who just survived an unintentional colon cleanse or has been married to a lesbian for decades:

He looks like he's 20 years older in that pic, ready for a walker with those sunken eyes. The pic appeared interestingly in an article he wrote about selfies:

So, where does all of this lead? It's not a promo thread for the Bernie campaign. It's not a Silverdaddies crush homage either.
It is an appeal for other profiles of political pundits who are not candidates, but not merely journalists either. Who do you think is an interesting similar figure, handsome or not?
